Pocket Penetrometer designed for the rapid determination of soil consistency, shear strength and approximate unconfined compression strength.

The penetrometer has an engraved numerical scale, with a sliding index and the operator zeroes this index before starting the test.

During compression of the soil, the index automatically slides and stops on the scale indicating the test result.

The ratio of the needle diameter and the calibrated spring of the penetrometer gives a direct compression value in kg/cm2.
