Hoek Cells are used to measure the triaxial strength of rock specimens.The hoek cell consists of a cell body with screwed end caps, self-sealing couplings for hydraulic pressure and de-airing, hardened and ground spherical seats, pistons and specimen jackets.

The cells can be used with pressures up to 70 MPa in compression machines of up to 3000kN capacity.
